The initial meeting/contact will focus on the client's wishes as regards the nature of the portrait commisssion, the setting, size, choice of materials, and finally, the pricing, which will be determined by all these considerations.

Next, a relaxed chat with the sitter, (and petting/play-if the subject is a pet!) is desirable, so the artist may get an initial impression of the sitter's character and nature.
Initial exploratory photographs may be taken.

Finally, arrangements will be made for sittings, or photographic session(s).
